Ten Things About Andy Kim

As I was setting up this blog, I spent WAY too much time on my biography which can immediately give you a glimpse of the kind of person I am. After coming to terms with the fact that most normal people who would visit this blog stopped reading at the previous sentence, I condensed some information about myself into succinct and hopefully readable list:
- I like life… and a good meal (probably too much sometimes).
- I am the son of Korean immigrants. I am a proud product of the Korean American Church, and my home church, Galilee KUMC, in particular. I am also a proud product of too much kimchee chigae in mah belly.
- I hail from the greatest city in the world, Chicago! I currently live in Edgewater on the North side of the city.
- I work full-time for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Northwestern University, working primarily with Asian American students.
- I attend New Community Covenant Church, a young, multiethnic congregation that seeks to live out the cause of Christ in the City, where I am one of the worship leaders.
- This is not my first foray into the blogosphere. You can read my now defunct xanga from my college years HERE.
- I like to verbally process. I am an ENFP, what do you expect? So I’m starting this blog not just so you can read it, but it helps me process my own thoughts. (On a side note, but quite relevant, also the same MBTI as our very own Barack Obama… yayuh).
- My idea of a good day consists of good food, good music and good conversation. So an example of this could be listening to a CD of Kenny Garrett while munching on a taco al pastor and debating with someone about the best locations to put an “employees must wash hands before returning to work” sign.
- Music is a big part of my life and a big way I like to connect to God. I want to devote lots of space in this blog to talk about worship.
- I put cereal into the bowl BEFORE I put milk. In my mind, there is no other way.
